Dale Rotschafer

Dale L. Rotschafer, 65 of Lincoln passed away on May 5, 2016 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln. He was born on December 13, 1950, in Fort Bragg, N.C. Dale was a 1970 graduate from Northeast High School in Lincoln. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. Dale married Jane Schweppe on July 24, 1988, at St. Paul's UCC (Osage) in Cook.

He worked as a restaurant manager for many years. He especially loved cooking Italian food. Dale was an avid fundraiser for both the Cornhusker Kiwanis and Clinic with the Heart. On September 26, 2005, Dale received a small bowel transplant at UNMC and lived many more years than was expected, despite the odds of the procedure.

Dale is survived by his wife, Jane Schweppe ; son, Nathan Rotschafer ; mother, Mary Rotschafer; brothers, John (Tori), Roger (Linda); sisters, LaVonne (Jim) Brainard, Deb (Charlie) Swanson; also many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. And his beloved companion dog, Maggie. Dale was also like an uncle to his friends' children. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Rotschafer, grandparents, and beloved dog, Saddie.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. on Saturday, Southpointe Christian Church, 7010 Helen Witt Dr. Lincoln. Inurnment will Lincoln Memorial cemetery.
