William "Bill" Craig Schmidt, 58, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died on Monday (2/15/10) in Lincoln. He was born on October 19, 1951 in Lincoln to Kenneth E. and Rosemary (Bailey) Schmidt. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School. Bill was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he had worked for 33 years. He most recently was working part-time for Alley-Cat Disposal Service.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Crystal Schmidt of Bossier City, Louisiana; son, Shane Schmidt of Lincoln; significant other, Penny Bauer of Lincoln; step-brother, Larry Willet of Lincoln; ex-wife, Terry Schmidt of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Wanda Ebben of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Alice M. (Lacey) Schmidt; step-brother, Lanny Willet; father-in-law, Duane Ebben.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday (2/19/10) at 2 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Wyuka Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
